Unseen Passage : Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose 

Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose was born in Bikrampur, Dhaka, on November 30, 1858. He passed the Entrance Examination in 1875 from Hare School and got himself admitted into St. Xavier's College, Calcutta. He received a bachelor degree from the University of Calcutta in 1879. He did his B.Sc. degree from the University of London in 1884. He returned to India in 1885 and joined Presidency College as an Assistant Professor of Physics. Bose wrote a book called 'Response in the Living and Non-Living' in 1902 and in that book he proved that plants are sensitive to heat, cold, light, noise and other external stimuli just like human beings. The discovery made him world famous. He passed away on November 23, 1937.
